NZ Kids with Limb Loss - Facebook Support Group

NZALS is excited to announce the launch of a Facebook group for parents and carers of children with limb loss/difference called NZ Kids with Limb Loss, in collaboration of the Amputees Federation of NZ Inc. The group has been made with the support of Limbs 4 Life Australia who have established similar Facebook groups in Australia. The group is designed to provide support, and allow families to make connections, and is a safe place to ask questions, share experiences and access information and useful resources.

NZ Kids with Limb Loss will be launching on Facebook for parents and carers to access on Monday 3 December 2018, a significant date for this group as it coincides with the International Day for People with Disabilities. An invitation with information on how to access the group will be sent to parents and carers who have already expressed interest in the Facebook group. If you are a parent or carer who wishes to join the group, please email info@nzals.co.nz and an invitation with instructions will be sent to you.

The Facebook group is ‘closed’ to protect the privacy of all members, and all requests to join the group must be approved by administrators with all posts moderated.

This is an exciting step for NZALS and the Amputees Federation of NZ Inc. to ensure our patients and their whanau have access to useful resources and support from others going through a similar life changing journey.
