AMPed Up 2025 Speaker Feature - Campbell
Campbell Message is a Pathways Specialist with Paralympics Australia. He is a Paralympic Silver medalist in wheelchair basketball and has spent years working in spinal injury rehabilitation, disability sport, research and consultancy. He is passionate about the impact that para sport has on peoples’ lives.
“I'm super excited to attend and to present at AMPed Up! as I have felt (and continue to feel) the joy of para sport. To share this with other people with a disability and their partners, allied health professionals and more, is an incredible opportunity!”
“I’ll be talking about how people can get into para sport and also some of the benefits. Para sport isn't just about sport, it's about finding a passionate way to engage in healthy but fun activities. It's about being involved in positive communities and normalising living with disability. It's also about a contrast between an often barrier filled general society, to one which supports opportunity.”
“While there are a tonne of opportunities for people to get involved in para sports with a view to the 2032 Paralympics in Brisbane, it is not all about winning medals. Entry points to para sport give people a chance to try at their own pace and then, if the bug bites, pathways to performance opportunities will open up!”
